The New Life vision began January 26, 1994 with a Bible study group in the home of Rev. Thomas L. Murray. The Lord envisioned and filled him with the desire to teach the uncompromised Word of God.

On February 16, 1994, Rev. Murray formed the New Life Missionary Baptist Church. The first six members were Rev. Murray and his sons, Chris and Maurice, and Sis. Ruby Quinn, and her sons, Theron and Jonathan.

Sunday worship services and Sunday Church School began on March 6, 1994. Sis. Shirley Davis was our first pianist and choir director. A commercial building was leased by the end of the year.

In December 1995, the Lord blessed us with an opportunity to purchase three acres of land on West Fuqua. Our Pastor envisioned a beautiful sanctuary occupying the land. During 1996 and 1997 New Life grew both spiritually and by the building of God's people. God rewarded our faithfulness, and ground was broken for a new sanctuary in autumn of 1997. By January 1998, we moved into our new place of worship and membership tripled.

We are now celebrating our Church's 8th year anniversary. Since its inception in 1994, the Lord has graciously blessed New Life Missionary Baptist Church through His goodness and faithfulness. The Lord started the church with a group of six persons, and over the years, has added hundreds to that number. The preaching and teaching of His Word is at the very center of what New Life Missionary Baptist Church is all about. From the pulpit, to Sunday-school classes, and missionary fields, the Lord has been faithful to bless His Word and change lives.
